Since 1970, the Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., in short “K” Line, has been pioneering in the transportation of completely built-up cars on PCTCs (Pure Car and Truck Carriers) and today also acts as a project and High & Heavy specialist with tailor-made solutions for the most difficult cargoes available in the market – including High & Heavy vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery, as well as breakbulk and project cargo. By employing modern state-of-the-art vessels, “K” Line provides one of the largest and most diversified RoRo-networks in global trade connecting the major production sites and markets for our customers across all oceans.
“K” Line European Sea Highway Services (KESS) is one of the major short sea carrier operators in Europe, transporting up to 900.000 units a year. The service network covered by KESS includes the whole of the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Atlantic Spanish Coast and Irish Sea, ranging from Ireland to Russia with 11 vessels in service, which are also suitable for high and heavy ro-ro cargoes.
KESS’s first-class services in regard of quality, accuracy, safety as well as sustainability have resulted in contracts with all major car manufacturers under high-quality standards, being approved by Lloyds’ Register ISO 9001 / 14001.
Breakbulk Europe will be the first event with “K” Line and its short sea subsidiary KESS exhibiting together on a joint booth underlining the large degree of integration and synergies between the two companies.
